Foundation for Social Care was established in 1994 at Lucknow, the state capital of population-wise the largest province of India, Uttar Pradesh. Since then it has several projects and activities to its credit supported by public donations, international grants and government bodies. Board of Trustees of the FSC is at the helm of its affairs, assisted by Advisory Council, Executive Committee and Expert Committees. All projects are executed as functionally independent units of the organisation. Although most of its projects and activities benefit people around Lucknow but its Scholarship Programme is of all India nature having centres in almost all important cities of the country. FSC Scholarship Programme

 

 

Foundation for Social Care launched its Scholarship Programme in July 2000 as a major project of the organisation, while adding one more bright feather in its several other ventures. The main objective of this Programme is to develop desired human potentials for the advancement of weaker sections of society. The Programme does not involve just the transfer of material benefits to the beneficiaries, rather it involves in their more serious care and career building. Under this Programme,  financial assistance is provided to meritorious students of educationally and economically weaker sections of society under three schemes namely Nama Scholarship Scheme, Sadbhavana Scholarships and School Level Scholarships for Minorities. for details vide this page.

The Committee of Scholarship Programme (CSP) steers affairs of the Programme.  Scholarships of the FSC are generally paid in quarterly installments. A number of regular activities are organised by the Scholarship Office including monthly/quarterly meetings of beneficiaries, publication of Newsletter of the Scholarship Programme, organisation of competitions of essay writing, quiz and extempore speech, etc., summer assignment, group discussions, debate, distance education course, observance of important days, etc. for the orientation and overall development of the awardees. The orientation centres of the Programme are presently located in New Delhi, Aligarh, Lucknow, Guwahati, Kolkata, Cuttack, Raipur, Ranchi, Patna, Indore, Ahmadabad, Jaipur and Malerkotla, Mumbai, Pune, Banglore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Calicut.

Students studying in any university or recognised institution in regular status and having a bright academic performance with at least 70% marks in 10+2 or 65% in graduation and post gradation are eligible for the above scholarships. They are required to submit their applications in a prescribed form duly filled on or before 25th July 2008.
